A chiropractor is a licensed healthcare professional dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of issues affecting your musculoskeletal and nervous systems. We specialize in managing pain and dysfunction related to your muscles, bones, joints, and optimizing the function of your nervous system, which controls virtually everything in your body.
We commonly treat a wide spectrum of conditions, including:
Spine & Head Pain: Lower back pain, neck pain, headaches, and migraines.
Nerve Pain: Sciatica (radiating leg pain) and symptoms related to nerve irritation.
Joint Pain: Dysfunction in the hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, and ankles.
Our key goal is not just temporary relief but long-term health restoration. By correcting underlying biomechanical imbalances, we help facilitate the body's natural ability to heal and fully restore your physical and neurological function

A chiropractic adjustment, or spinal manipulation, is a core technique we use to restore proper joint movement. Using their hands or a specialized instrument, your practitioner applies a precise, controlled force to a joint that isn't moving optimally. This gently realigns the joint and improves its natural range of motion.
The occasional "popping" or "cracking" sound you might hear is not your bones breaking! It's simply the sound of gas (like oxygen and nitrogen) being released from the small fluid-filled cavities within the joint. We also use a variety of non-manipulative or "non-cracking" techniques to ensure your treatment plan is fully customised to your comfort and needs.

Yes, chiropractic care is generally considered remarkably safe when provided by a trained and licensed professional.
The most common side effects are minor and temporary, such as slight soreness, stiffness, or headaches that typically resolve within a day or two. While serious complications are extremely rare, we always prioritize safety. A thorough patient history and physical examination are mandatory before treatment to identify any potential risks and ensure the care is appropriate for you.
In fact, the New Zealand Government's landmark "Commission of Inquiry into Chiropractic" deemed adjustments "remarkably safe."

Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a hands-on diagnostic system that uses manual muscle testing to assess the function of various systems in your body—including muscles, nerves, and organs.
AK is guided by the "Triad of Health" concept, which proposes that your well-being requires a balance between three interconnected components: structural, chemical, and emotional factors.
During a muscle test, we apply gentle pressure to a muscle. The resulting "strong" or "weak" response is interpreted as biofeedback, helping us identify underlying imbalances (like joint dysfunction, poor nutrition, or emotional tension) to inform your overall care plan.
-
Functional Medicine is a patient-centered, systems-based approach that seeks to identify and address the underlying root causes of illness, rather than simply managing symptoms.
This approach is proactive and holistic. We look at you as a whole person, considering how your genetics, environment, diet, and lifestyle factors interact to shape your health. We use in-depth patient histories, specialized lab testing, and functional assessments to create a truly personalised treatment plan.

You may be entitled to an ACC part payment for your visit if your injury resulted from an accident. Please discuss this with us at or prior to your appointment so we can help you with the process.
-
As a regulated health professional, I must comply with the New Zealand Chiropractic Board's advertising standards. The Board has banned the use of testimonials and reviews—in all forms, including websites and social media—to ensure professional integrity and protect the public. We appreciate your understanding of this mandate.

Absolutely not.
While chiropractic adjustments are a powerful tool, your care plan is entirely individualised. Many patients seek my help specifically for health advice and specialized support that doesn't involve manipulation.
Using my expertise in Applied Kinesiology (AK) and Functional Medicine, I frequently assist people with:
Holistic Health Advice: Identifying the root causes of chronic health concerns.
Nutritional & Supplement Guidance: Determining which supplements are truly right for your body's needs.
Systemic Support: Providing functional support for issues like gut health problems, anxiety, ADHD, or hormone changes throughout life.
You are always welcome to email me to discuss your specific health concerns and determine if my holistic approach is the right fit for you.
